ROL is proud to announce its partnership with HealthRock: Music with a Message Road of Life and HealthRock have partnered to provide children and families with dynamic health education programming. HealthRock, like Road of Life, finds innovative ways to teach children about health and wellness.

HealthRock was founded in 2003 by Dr. Machelle Seibel, a professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Director of the Complicated Menopause Program at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. He created HealthRock to increase awareness about important health issues among "kids" of all ages and to help them realize that they have choices. HealthRock features songs that teach children important concepts like eating the right foods, exercising, and not smoking. HealthRock takes a fun and creative approach to teach children (and adults!) healthy lifestyle choices. Some of the HealthRock songs include, "Healthy Bones," "Brush Your Teeth," "Fruits are Good to Eat," and "Don’t be Afraid of A Squash."

The HealthRock website also features an "Ask Dr. S." page where children can ask Dr. Seibel questions about hygiene, health, how the body works, and self-esteem. The website also features health cartoons and online games for children as well as short, downloadable ebooks for parents. The ebooks provide parents with information to share with their children

The primary purpose of this partnership will be to create and deliver joint health education programming targeting at-risk youth. Dr. Seibel believes, "HealthRock uses music and animation to make learning about health fun and memorable. We are hoping that by adding some of HealthRock's content to the ROL's excellent educational material, we'll be able to reinforce the key messages to help kids incorporate them into their lives for healthier living."
